Hi my name is Mrs. Shrader. This will be my 4th year teaching special education here at Cass City Middle School. I enjoy helping children and this year is no exception. I am passionate about life-long learning and would like to spread that passion to students. I believe in promoting positive behavior in my classroom. I know that as a teacher I should not only teach good examples, but also be a good example. I do not demand answers to questions, but I encourage students to question answers. I also believe that students are not ‘winners’ or ‘losers’, they are ‘choosers’. I am excited to work with a wonderful staff again this year.
I completed my Bachelor Degree in History and English Secondary Education at Saginaw Valley State University. After I completed my student teaching, I realized that I love working with special education students. I went back to complete my CI and LD endorsements. I feel that teaching special education students is the perfect fit for me.
During college I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy, France, and England. After seeing beautiful man-made structures…I realized almost anything is possible with determination, hard work, honesty and always trying to do the right thing. I try to instill this into my students.
On a personal note I moved to Cass City November 2009 along with my husband Scott, son Hayden, and now our newest addition Bailey Sue. This has become a dream job and town to raise our children.
