I was born in Cass City, Michigan and graduated from Cass City High School before going to Northern Michigan University in 1984. I received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 1988 and a Masters degree from Saginaw Valley State University in 2000. I've taught Adult Education classes, college courses, students at Ruth Sts. Peter & Paul and Harbor Beach Community Schools, and have been at Cass City Middle School since 1994.
As a college freshman at NMU I was a Computer Science major and had no desire to become a teacher. In my first semester I was in a programming class where most of the students didn't understand the language, but I did. As a result, I "taught" many of the students the concepts from the class that they didn't understand. I really enjoyed the results of my teaching, so second semester I applied for entrance into the School of Education and was accepted.
Now I teach because I love to share my passion with others and encourage them to discover and pursue their own gifts and talents.
I am currently teaching:
7th and 8th Grade Mathematics
