Sixth graders are the best!! I've been teaching sixth grade Language Arts, Social Studies, and Interventions for the past fifteen years.

I was raised in Scottville, MI. Upon completing my elementary education degree at Western Michigan University, I taught first grade in Ludington, MI. for seven year. My husband and I moved to Cass City. For the next seventeen years I stayed home to raise my children and became an elementary and middle school substitute teacher and adult education teacher.  I also obtained my Masters Degree in Childhood Development from Saginaw Valley State University.

I am married and have four children and am a proud grandparent. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family - sharing in their activities, camping, and working in my flower gardens.

I believe all children are learners. My goal is to give each child the opportunity to see themselves as learners. When they finally see themselves in that way, they seem to open up and become sponges of knowledge - soaking up everything they are exposed to. It is a wonderful experience watching children begin to believe in themselves as learners and unique individuals. I believe children deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. I try to model a sense of community in our classroom - an atmosphere in which we all respect each other and strive to bring out the best in each other. By encouraging each other and providing a safe and secure atmosphere, I hope to help each child develop to the fullness of their potentials.
